The east, west, and south sides of the building offer both shading and a sense of openness.

The concert hall at the Shiroishi City Cultural and Sports Activities Center was designed with the concept of creating a bright auditorium that feels like being outdoors, and the symbolic feature of this is the large glass-walled entrance that opens up three sides (east, west, and south).

By maximizing the amount of light from outside and creating a sense of brightness and openness that makes it seem as if you are surrounded by nature, this highly original concert hall stands out from conventional concert halls.

A total of 58 roller blinds covering a total area of over 2,000 ㎡ were installed on the three sides of the entrance (east, west, and south). Despite the large scale of 17 m in height, a flat design was achieved, eliminating any sagging or wrinkles in the fabric.
By covering the entire high glass surface, the solar load is effectively reduced and a uniform shading environment is created.

By using a guide wire, even large roller screens can be kept flat and beautiful without distortion when raised or lowered, creating a neat and beautiful impression for the entire space.

Push-buttons on each side allow for linked operation, while each of the three sides can also be raised or lowered individually using the switches on the control panel.
